CLIDE Team

CLIDE Consultancy, the Community Livestock Integrated Development Consultancy, is a Christian non-profit organization registered and working in eastern Uganda (Moroto, Napak, Kween and Soroti Districts). CLIDE Consultancy, was established in 2007 as a community based NGO in Uganda. Our main office is located in Moroto. We have been working in the area since 1996 and are committed to empower the Karamojong and other pastoral peoples towards dignified and self-reliant development and spiritual growth.  This is accomplished through capacity building in sustainable livelihoods and other training and consultancy support to indigenous associations, churches, CBOs, FBOs, women’s groups and other NGOs and INGOs.  CLIDE is committed to providing these services with a high level of competence and integrity.

Mission:

The Mission for which the Consultancy Team is established is: “To empower community groups, churches and organizations for sustainable socio–economic transformation and holistic healing through an Integrated Livestock Development approach”.

Objectives:

As development consultants, CLIDE desires to build the capacity of local people to sustainably develop without dependency, but through empowering partnerships and networking. The objectives for which the Consultancy Team is established are:

1. To stimulate spiritual growth and development in our partnering Community Groups, Churches, Organizations and in ourselves.
2. To empower marginalized people by providing integrated animal health and husbandry trainings.
3. To network with the Government, Local Communities, CBOs, FBOs and other development partners at Local, District, National and International levels to build and strengthen their      capacities
3. To promote, research and train on the sustainable development of Livestock Related Indigenous Knowledge (eg. Ethno-Veterinary Medicines) and Indigenous breeds, including issues of marketing and IPR
4. To promote and establish environmentally sustainable livestock and agricultural programmes
5. To promote and establish gender–,  age–, and culturally appropriate micro-enterprises and micro-finance opportunities.
6. To Integrate HIV/AIDS sensitization, training and counseling into all of our livestock      development Initiatives.
7. To promote peace and reconciliation through socio–economic and spiritual transformation in Karamoja and its neighbors.
8. To promote and support education for needy children through scholarships and other school related initiatives.

CLIDE Staff:

We work with an amazing, multi-cultural team of Christian brothers and sisters, dedicated to serving the Lord and bringing hope and a future to those in need. Dr. Moses Otim is our fearless Team Leader and is also a very good veterinarian as well. Dr. Moses' wife is Christine, who is our Education Coordinator. She faithfully leads our Timothy Project, which provides school fees and educational support to over 160 students. Our other team mates are also excellent service providers and good freinds as well. We enjoy working with all of them and love to see their skills and experience used for the Glory of God.
